Answers
What are the universities taking part in AlmaLaurea?
The number of the universities taking part in AlmaLaurea
is constantly rising. The AlmaLaurea project involves the universities
of many Italian regions.
AlmaLaurea collects the data of ALL the graduates -except of those
who have formally asked not to be included in the databank- of the universities taking part
in the project. Data collection starts on the date of their subscription.
Do the curricula collected by AlmaLaurea belong to all graduates or just to those ones
looking for a job?
The databank of AlmaLaurea contains the curricula of all graduates of the
universities taking part in the AlmaLaurea project, except the curricula
of those who have formally asked to be excluded from the databank.
The service provided by AlmaLaurea does not guarantee the availability
of graduates who could be already employed. Obviously, it
doesn’t mean that those graduates would not be interested in evaluating interesting job offers
coming from other companies.
To what extent are the CVs collected by AlmaLaurea updated?
The collection of the data contained in the database starts from the graduation of each student.
Since 1st January 2000 all graduates had been receiving a
personal access code that they use to update their
curricula. Graduates’ curricula may, therefore, be updated
by the graduates themselves even on a daily basis.
Does AlmaLaurea act in compliance with the Italian Personal Data Protection Code?
Yes, it does. The information contained in the databank is collected, processed
and diffused for the purpose of facilitating the procedures for starting up work (hiring,
collaborations, traineeships, internships, training) in compliance with
the Italian Personal Data Protection Code.
The services provided by AlmaLaurea can be revoked or denied in case
the terms and conditions of contract have not been respected.
(See also Terms and conditions)
How is the project financed?
AlmaLaurea is a non-profit-making project and it is financed by
the Ministry of University and Scientific and Technological Research
(M.U.R.S.T.) and by all universities, companies and organisations which take part in the project
and use the service.
Which services are available for companies?
- SUBSCRIPTION TO THE DATABANK
Companies which need to select candidates very frequently and want to contact a large number of them may choose to make a subscription (subscribe to AlmaLaurea). As for recruitment agencies and temporary agencies, AlmaLaurea draws up specific agreements. - NOTICE BOARD
Companies may use the notice board of AlmaLaurea to post their job offers, specifying the characteristics of the candidate they are looking for (post a job offer). The job offer can be seen by all the users that every day access the web site www.almalaurea.it. - SELF SERVICE (PURCHASE OF SINGLE CVs)
Companies which need to contact a limited number of graduates or which need to select candidates only occasionally may buy curricula through Self-Service or they can contact the AlmaLaurea Company Service.
Which kind of information is contained in the INTEGRATED and in the ANAGRAPHIC version of the CVs collected by AlmaLaurea?
In the INTEGRATED version there are more than 110 pieces of information for each
graduate. There are three sources of information: information certified
by univeristies, information related to self-certifications made by the
graduates themselves (e.g.: information about the military service or studies
made abroad etc.), information related to self-evaluations made by
the graduates themselves (e.g.: foreign language skills,
IT skills etc…).
The ANAGRAPHIC version of the curricula contains 10 pieces of information.
This version do not include telephone numbers.
Is it possible to check before the purchase if the content of the databank can satisfy a given request?
Yes, it is possible to consult the online databank free of charge through the Self-service mode;
at the end of a research, after having set up the selection criteria,
you can obtain information regarding the number of graduates who satisfy the request and
all the data contained in the curriculum, except personal data
(name and address). On the basis of the total number of curricula found
the user may estimate if the subscription is more convenient than
the purchase of single curricula.
It is also possible to contact the
AlmaLaurea Company Service to ask for a consulting on the kind of purchase
that is the most convenient.
Is it possible to subscribe to the databank of a single university?
No, it isn’t. With the subscription you will access the data of all universities taking part
in the AlmaLaurea project. Therefore, it is not possible to subscribe to the data of single
universities.
However, you can select in our web search engine one or more universities you are interested in,
so that only the data of those universities will be displayed.
Moreover, AlmaLaurea has search parameters that
are more sophisticated than a mere parameter like “university”:
searches are mostly based on parameters like region, province and
city indicated by graduates as the address to be contacted at,
rather than on universities.
This choice is due to the fact that many people often study at universities
that are far from their city of residence.
What are the current prices for subscriptions and for the purchase of single CVs?
Current prices can be found in the AlmaLaurea
order forms
that can be found online and printed. The VAT rate is up to 20%.
How can information about technical and purchase procedures be obtained?
You can receive technical
and commercial assistance on issues related to the AlmaLaurea services by sending your request
to servizio.aziende@almalaurea.it or
filling in the online form.
Please, write down any information that can help us to identify
the problems you had while using our services, so that we will be able to give you a timely help. We would advice you
to indicate your telephone number and -if necessary-
to indicate when you are available to answer to our phone call.
Which kinds of data can be displayed after subscribing to AlmaLaurea?
When you subscribe to AlmaLaurea, you can
choose the data you want to access to.
Our subscription conditions allow you to have access to the following data:
- last graduation session
- last 3 graduation sessions
- the whole databank containing information since 1996 until today
What does SINGLE EDITION mean?
Each EDITION corresponds to a graduation session. The edition number 1 of the
current year comes out online at the beginning of March and it regards the data of students
who graduated between September and December of the previous year. The edition number 2 comes out online
at the beginning of July and it regards the data of students who graduated between January and April.
The edition number 3 comes out online at the beginning of November and it regards students who graduated
between May and August.
Between the graduation and the publication of the data there is a time gap
of 3 months. This time gap is due to the fact that
the majority of the universities is still sending us paper questionnaires
which have to be read by optical reading systems.
We are planning to reduce soon this time gap
through the use of electronic data collection systems
by the universities taking part in AlmaLaurea.
How many steps there are for the subscription?
To make a subscription you have to print from the Internet the
ORDER FORM
and the CONTRACT or
you can ask the Information Diffusion Office to send them to you by e-mail or fax.
After having carefully read the contract you have to fill in the order form
without leaving any blank field. Then you have to make the advance payment and send
the order form by fax to the Information Distribution Office together with
the receipt issued by the bank or the post office which certifies the payment
(the receipt of a transfer order having the stamp of the bank on it would also be accepted). The invoice will be then made out.
Does AlmaLaurea have consultation counters?
AlmaLaurea has opened several
consultation counters
of the data bank together with
universities, associations and professional organisations that are interested in making available
the consultation of the databank of AlmaLaurea within
their offices.
How long does it take to access data?
If you make a subscription, you will receive the access code (username and password)
for the online databank on the day after the receipt
of the order form and of a document certifying the payment. Both of them
must be sent to the AlmaLaurea Company Service. If the data that have been selected are not
already available, you have to wait for their publication.
In case you buy single CVs through our Self-service, they
will be sent to you following your requirements (i.e.: by e-mail, express mail or fax)
on the same day or just one day after the AlmaLaurea Company Service has received
your fax of the document certifying your
payment. If you pay with credit card, the curricula will
be automatically sent after your payment
(immediate receipt). Moreover, it is also possible
to make a deferred payment with credit card through
the Self-service.
If the purchase of Cvs is carried out through the AlmaLaurea counter
at the AlmaLaurea Company Service, curricula will be sent
to you following your requirements (i.e.: by e-mail, express mail or fax)
on the same day or just one day after the AlmaLaurea Company Service has received
the order form (having written on it the date and your signature) and a document certifying your payment.
Is it possible to use the online AlmaLaurea services 24-7?
Yes, you can consult the web site with all services
24-7. Any web site maintenance is generally carried out during hours when they do not disturb the activity
of the users.
How long does an online subscription to AlmaLaurea last?
Online subscriptions to the databank may range from
4 months (for the subscription to the last graduation session) to one year
(for the subscription to the last 3 graduation sessions and/or to the whole
databank) starting from the activation date of the code of access.
Are the data collected by AlmaLaurea related only to graduates or also to students holding a diploma?
AlmaLaurea collects the data of all students who have
UNIVERSITY degrees. Therefore, the databank contains the curricula of those students
who have a FIRST/SECOND LEVEL DEGREE, or a UNIVERSITY DIPLOMA
(the so-called "short degree") or
the degree obtained attending HIGHER EDUCATION FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSES.
Therefore, AlmaLaurea does not contain the CVs of students having only
a secondary school diploma, because these can be found in the web site
www.almadiploma.it
What is the difference between higher education for specific purposes and university diploma?
The Ministerial Decree of 31st January 1992 instituted a wide
range of university diplomas and by doing that it developed the
first level of the academic studies.
During the academic year 1992-93 the same decree established that the degree offered
through higher education for specific purposes were turned into university diplomas.
Which kind of use can be made of the data collected by AlmaLaurea?
With the subscription users don’t take possession of
data, since AlmaLaurea remains the only owner. However, they acquire
the right to use them for the purpose of facilitating the procedures for STARTING UP
WORK, as specified in the contract of AlmaLaurea.
These procedures include hiring, collaborations,
internships and training; they don’t include the award of prizes
or scholarships.
