STRIVE project is underway

STRengthening Internationalization of Vietnamese Emerging universities

On 22-23 January 2024, the opening meeting of the STRIVE project "STRengthening Internationalization of Vietnamese Emerging Universities" was held in Bologna, hosted by the AlmaLaurea Interuniversity Consortium.

The initiative, co-funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ program and coordinated by the AlmaLaurea Consortium, aims to reduce the existing gap between higher education institutions for what concerns internationalization in the Republic of Vietnam.

Developing new skills and sustainable tools in favour of a renewed governance of international cooperation in beneficiary universities, creating the first virtual center for the promotion of internationalization in Vietnam and strengthening networking between Vietnamese and European higher education institutions for promoting mobility of students and staff are among the main expected results of the project.

The importance of promoting international cooperation between Vietnam and Europe, the centrality of this initiative for the project partnership and for the AlmaLaurea coordinator, who has been collaborating with Vietnamese higher education institutions and universities since 2015, together with the detailed presentation of the project activities, are among the main topics covered in the two working days.

25 representatives of the project partnership took part to the event: Rectors, Vice-Rectors, Presidents and Professors belonging to the four partner universities in Vietnam - University of Hanoi, Phu Xuan University, Quang Ninh University and National Academy of Public Administration - together with the European partners of Portugal and Italy, namely the University of Évora and the University of Tuscia.

During the meeting, the importance of capacity building and dissemination activities, aimed at promoting future project sustainability and the involvement of new stakeholders beyond project life, was underlined.
