UnifeTalentLink
The "UnifeTalentLink" project is implemented with the European funds of the Emilia-Romagna Region

The University of Ferrara, in line with the Rectors’ mandate plan 2021-2027, is investing with the aim of enhancing the orienteering activities in order to raise the awareness about the choice of the academic path and to revitalise and to strengthen the placement, notably as concerns those study courses more critical with respect to employability.
At the same time, the work of the University is focusing on the matching between the academic supply and the job market needs, notably as regards the single cycle master’s degrees with a view towards the training post lauream.
The resources available are aimed at fostering a direct and constant dialogue with the students, granting appropriate and innovative services. The commitment is to ensure to all students the possibility of a prompt access to the traineeship in order to allow a rapid conclusion of the career and opportune services for career guidance.
The increase of the student population of the University throughout the last years led the University to be included among the large universities in the country, therefore, it is necessary to consolidate and enlarge innovative support services for the students; in a view of an effective career guidance, the investment is focusing on granting job-support during the studies.
The actions of the University foreseen by the project for the qualification of placement services and career support aim at developing additional services in a view of dialogue and direct confrontation with the needs expressed by the Unife students’ and graduates’ community, in order to grant a direct impact on the territory and to avoid dispersion towards other regions or abroad.
In the light of the peculiar characteristics of the Unife students’ community, consisting of 80% students away from home, the actions have been designed to involve the largest number of public and private stakeholders and to grant an enhanced network system connecting the different actors in the field engaged at various level in the university-work transition.
In summary, the project foresees:
- The strengthening of the relations with firms, including the creation of a public showcase for firms, the organization of hackathon and short professional trainings.
- The identification of firms’ needs and the organization of matching events, in addition to the monitoring of skills’ needs.
- The collaboration with the regional ecosystem of innovation and research, through the design of intensive trainings and seminars and the provision of information on the professional vocations of the territory.
- The consolidation of the placement services, with a focus on the build-up of transition paths to work and the monitoring of users’ satisfaction.
- The support to entrepreneurship and start-ups creation, with a focus on the opportunities provided by the University and the Region.
- A structured collaboration with the network of local services for attracting and retaining the graduates, including the creation of a “Talent Playground” and the design of joint services between the University and the Municipality.
- The design of new information, training and mentorship services, with a focus on the matching between supply for and demand of labour and on personalized career guidance.
AlmaLaurea Interuniversity Consortium’s role
AlmaLaurea Interuniversity Consortium will contribute to extend the tools at the disposal of the firms and of the placement office (thus, of the university) allowing an integrated and structured communication and a prompt and effective response by the university to the requests coming from the firms.
The information system will be able to survey the general expectations coming from the firms concerning the recruitment of young graduates, researchers and master’s degree holders, through the collection of a whole set of information (e.g. description of the required profiles, description of the main activities of the firm, estimation of the number of candidates sought, eventual training gaps identified). Such information will be available in a disaggregated way according to the degree level hold (bachelor, master, PhD).
