The two days meeting, foreseen in the framework of the WP4 of the STRIVE project, “Capacity building capitalizing on staff and students experiences in mobility”, was held in Viterbo (Italy), hosted by the University of Tuscia.
The workshop was attended by about 50 participants in presence and remotely, from the STRIVE project consortium (University of Hanoi, Phu Xuan University, Quang Ninh University of Industry, Academy of Public Administration and Governance, AlmaLaurea, University of Évora and University of Tuscia) as well as from Vietnamese universities new to the project (Ho Chi Minh Academy).
The first day was focused on the training on mobility programmes, aiming at provide an overview of mobility programs for students and staff within Erasmus+, capitalizing on the experiences of the STRIVE partners already involved in such initiatives, highlighting the prerequisites, the sharing of responsibilities, the lessons learned and the best practices acquired. Representative from HANU universities shared with the attendees their mobility experience; a central theme for the higher education sector that call for promoting inclusion and recognition of study or training periods abroad, as well as for the establishing of mutual trust in order to improve and strengthen cooperation between the competent authorities, organisations and all stakeholders.
Promoting information and competences to well prepare mobility initiatives are core activities of the university system in line with the objectives of the joint STRIVE project.
The second day was addressed to the brainstorming on the drafting of the CBHE project proposal on sustainable tourism in Vietnam, as one of main project outcomes, and an occasion for the experts involved to underline the need to take into consideration set principles on sustainable tourism, as the UN sustainable development goals, by having in minds key words as social equity, creative tourism and young generation.
The future sustainability of the project was also discussed, in particular the mission of the Virtual center for internationalization, STRIVE project milestone, as a reference point for an increased visibility of the international activities of the Vietnamese universities, as well as for promoting networking thus facilitating international partnership and cooperation.
The meeting was also the occasion for the signature of a memorandum of understanding between the University of Tuscia and the Academy of Public Administration and Governance of Hanoi for improving future mobility of students and staff between Italy and Vietnam.
